For some Guests, experiencing the ultimate dessert means devouring the richest chocolate cake they've ever had, or feeling like a kid again by dipping into a massive "kitchen sink" filled with ice cream. These guilty pleasures wouldn't be possible without the team of pastry chefs and Food & Beverage Cast Members across the Walt Disney World Resort who design, decorate and plate literally thousands of desserts each day.

Erich Herbitschek, executive pastry chef at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, says working at Disney has given him great opportunities to experiment and come up with new, creative and tasty desserts, some of which become Guest favorites.

"One of the most popular desserts we have at Narcoossee's is the almondcrusted cheesecake, and then we have a banana-chocolate tart at Citricos," he said. Erich and the resort's bakery staff also are responsible for producing thousands of wedding cakes each year.

"We do all the wedding cakes on property," he said. "It depends on the season, but sometimes we can do up to 20 a week, sometimes more, especially in May, June and November."

Now that "What will you celebrate?" is encouraging Guests to celebrate all kinds of special events at the resort, like birthdays, anniversaries and quinceaera parties, many other special dessert options are available. For example, most table-service restaurants are equipped to provide Celebrate Today! Cakes (a 6-inch cake with vanilla icing and colorful sprinkles) upon request. Guests who want to plan ahead can order a 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch or quarter sheet cake (a Disney Custom Bakery Cake) by calling 407-827- 2253 at least 48 hours in advance.
